The Student Sustainability Association at Penn (SSAP) is the umbrella group for undergraduate environmentalism at Penn.
Our 12 constituent groups address various environmental efforts, ranging from reducing plastics, to fossil fuel divestment, to bolstering Penn's environmental curriculum.
SSAP has three core functions:
1. LOBBYING University administration for increased environmental action
2. FUNDING environmental efforts, by SSAP groups and others
3. NURTURING a social community for environmentally-minded students
In recent years, SSAP has taken a more active role in advocating for increased institutional action regarding the climate crisis. Our efforts have led to the hiring of Penn's first ever climate psychologist at Penn's Counseling and Psychological Services, the adoption of a Power Purchase Agreement, and increased momentum for fossil fuel divestment. To stay up-to-date on our projects and to get involved, follow us on Facebook and Instagram, and join our Slack.
